I have mixed feelings about writing this as while Im not going to call this episode a stinker but its probably the worst episode of POI this season.
This weeks number was Harper, the smooth grifter who ripped off a medical marijuana dispensary.
Of course, the problem is that she stole the money from Dominic which is why she is on Team Machines radar.
I realize that Sarah Shahis pregnancy has had the writers scrambling a bit and Im not against auditioning some Shaw replacements (at least interim replacements) but if this was an audition for Harper, I have to give it a thumbs down.
I realize that were not going to like every person whos number comes up by necessity of the mandate to save everyone they can. (Elias is a great example of this.)
But I think Leon serves the function of saving someone we dont like far better than Harper did.
Other than making a few observations about Finch and Reese, Harper doesnt really work with the team as much as making them serve her needs/plans as opposed to being someone who could be a good fit for Team Machine.
This point is driven home when the writers have Reese turn his back on Harper so she could club him?
Really?
In what Universe does Reese allow that to happen?
The only thing that was interesting about this plot was Dominics interest in recruiting her and Dominic scheming.
Fortunately, the Root subplot was far more interesting this week.
Ms. Groves is on a Machine assignment to build an app to attract people.
Is this the Machine recruiting an army?
And is former number Calvin Phipps the first new recruit?
Also, I did notice the Stop Big Data protest at the college.
