Losing early-morning HD recordings

My Tivo Roamio is consistently failing to record shows during the early morning. For the last several days I have been having a problem.

I set Tivo to record from the Tennis Channel at 4am. Either the show does not get recorded, or Tivo records a brief partial recording.

Oddly, later shows on the same channel seem to record OK.

I have Cox digital cable and need a TA (tuning adapter) to get most of my channels, including the Tennis Channel. I have rebooted the TA and the Tivo box but I still have the same problem the next day or the day after.

A few days ago I had a related issue where Tivo was supposed to be recording the Tennis Channel but when I went to play what was previously recorded there was nothing there. Not even a partial green bar: http://ift.tt/1KkHcUW

I tried stopping the recording, then told Tivo to record what was currently playing. Again it indicated that it is recording, but any attempt to play that recorded failed; there was (again) nothing recorded. I ended up rebooting both the TA and Tivo.

I am now regularly missing recordings. Rebooting the TA and Tivo is just a brief fix; there's no assurance it won't happen again the next day. Each day I have to wonder if the early morning shows have been recorded or are lost.

Can anyone suggest what can be done to ensure my scheduled programs are correctly recorded?

(Also, why are there no messages on my Tivo that there was a problem recording a show? )
