This morning at about 7:15 a.m., we were watching TV and all the channels went out - Error 53 I believe, problem with signal on channel. We're on 20.4.7a, TWC, using a tuning adapter and cable card. Other TVs on Series 2 TiVos were fine.
I rebooted the tuning adapter and it came back fine. It appeared to be a problem with the cable card. (I hadn't tried watching a recording at that point because we'd been on live TV.) I rebooted the TiVo and everything came back fine.
Three or so hours later, we were watching a recording from last night. 1:56 minutes into a 2 hour recording, the picture froze. I backed out of the recording to the Now Playing screen and then went back to into playback (this sometimes fixes intermittent freezing on a recording the rare times it's happened) but this time, I got nothing but black screen, no progress on the play bar, just complete unresponsiveness to playing the recording. All other recordings were the same.
I checked live TV and was back to the same problem as earlier today. I rebooted the TiVo again, and all is back to normal on live TV, and we are able to play recordings again.
But I am worried about this happening twice in a short amount of time. Is anyone else experiencing this, or is this an issue with a resolution of some sort?
By way of history, a week or so ago I noticed that the codes we put in to have the time displayed at all times, and to remove the bar quickly when pause is enacted, had disappeared. I assumed the TiVo had rebooted during the night and put the codes back in. I suspect that's when we got update 20.4.7a. After this morning's issue, I put the codes back in again. I did not put them in after the second reboot, just in case they happen to be interfering in some way.
