Hi I was thinking of cashing in on the 10 year loyalty program, so I got out my old SVR2000 with lifetime service yesterday. The unit had trouble the last time I put it away, so I wiped it clean and started a whole new setup. I got through the guided setup with no problem, including the initial call to determine what the local dial in numbers are. During this process I noticed that button click actions to get to the next step took several minutes rather than a few seconds. Eventually they worked.
The last step comes from dialing the service to get the program guide data. I dialed the local number, and my Tivo froze. It's been on the same screen for about 16 hours. It's step one of the dial in process "Connecting - Cleaning Up".
I have a few questions:
1) What could be causing the slowness? HDD or something else?
2) Could the problem be with the number I dialed rather than the SVR2000? Are some numbers better for legacy units than others?
3) Since I did successfully make the setup call, but not the program data call, will Tivo acknowledge my SVR2000 as a working unit or will they say it's garbage . . . denying me the loyalty upgrade?
Thanks for the insight.
