So, I have an interesting problem/observation.
I have 2 TiVo Premieres. One is primarily controlled using Roomie Remote on an iPad. The other is primarily controlled by a regular TiVo Premiere infrared remote.
The one controlled by Roomie continues to be controlled by the Roomie remote indefinitely, but after some period of time the TiVo does 2 things:
The iOS TiVo app on the iPhone or iPad continues to work, but when I try to access the remote within the app, the remote icon has an X over it and says Im not connected to my home network, even though I am, and wont allow me to open the remote.
No Remote commands will work from kmttg. For example, updating the NPL with Use RPC to get NPL when possible, updating the To Do list, etc.
The TiVo controlled by the infrared remote never has this issue.
The problem fixes itself if I wait long enough and it goes away if I reboot the TiVo.
Im not knowledgeable enough to know the technical details, but it seems like the Roomie remote is sending RPCs that fill up a buffer on the TiVo Mind server. Once this buffer fills up it wont accept any more RPCs from other apps, but continues to allow the Roomie remote to function.
Questions?
Is this a known bug?
Is there any kind of workaround other than rebooting the TiVo? Is there some way to flush the buffer? If Im in the of recording a show, I dont want to reboot.
Is this a TiVo or Roomie bug?
