I have been searching all over the internet for my situation and although I find some that are close; I do not find one like mine NOR can I get any of the solutions to work.
My situation is a two router + one switch network and as such TiVo support tells me to go away. I need to prove my network is OR is not the problem. Currently it would be very hard to put both TiVos on the same network.
Basically the symptoms are that every transfer from the PC to the Tivo just stop after a certain length of time (some 12 min and some 50 min). I have tried old TiVo recordings (pre TiVo Premiere 4) and some new ones and they all fail so far. There is no error message, the recording just shuts down. Sometimes I get partial recordings on the TiVo premiere and sometimes I get nothing. I have a patched version of Tivo Desktop 2.8.3 and I can do transfers from TiVo to PC without problems. The TiVo premiere is new and I cannot be 100% sure that I have transferred a video from the PC to this TiVo since I got, although I think I have.
My network configuration is attached in a diagram.
I do not have the cords to allow me to connect the TiVo in question to the same router as the PC in use. I am just not sure how to figure out how to prove this right or wrong.
Please help.
