Use a non-AV hard drive for Roamio OTA upgrade?

I have a WD 3.0TB WD30EZRS drive I now longer use in my PC. It is not a AV drive, but it is a WD Caviar Green drive.

1) Any idea if that is ok to use in the Roamio OTA?

2) Do I need to reformat it before I put it in? It currently is formatted to NTFS and probably has a few files on it.
