Doing some experiments with an HDMI capture card, I found the card working perfectly, but if I switched the TV over to the component connection I normally use, the silly "HDMI not allowed" message box is floating around on the screen.
So because a different HDMI device (which it has no problems with - I was able to capture audio and video of non-protected content) is connected, I can't watch component output without an HDMI error? Component output which has no HDCP encryption available and shouldn't ever be a problem?
Nothing about that seems to make sense :-). I suspect someone is overlaying the HDMI message on the wrong output or something.
