After reading all the threads about the guide switch-over, I was dreading it. However after having experienced it last night, I can now say honestly that at least for me it really was nearly painless.
Yes, I had to go in and remove many new channels that showed up in my guide. But I didn't miss any recordings, my OnePasses are intact, my ToDo list seems correct, and, well, everything still seems to work.
I understand and appreciate the magnitude of a change like this from a technical standpoint. I am thankful that TiVo got it working as smoothly as they did. Extra channels that showed up in the guide, and a few extra episodes showed up in the ToDo list, because TiVo chooses to err on the side of caution -- which is the correct design.
Thank you TiVo for doing the best you could under what were almost certainly rushed and difficult circumstances, with a guide data source that is at this point possibly not as high-quality as what you had before. Hopefully you can influence your new owners to improve their quality.
