Long overdue upgrade

Short version: Will 1 Bolt and 1 mini give us the roughly the same functionality we currently have with 2 older HD Tivos?

We have two older Tivos. One is a S3 HD and one is an older HD. Both units have lifetime subs. One has my wife's shows and one is mine - this may be a factor. I'm thinking of upgrading to a single Bolt 1 TB plus 2-3 minis. Our current Tivos would great but we have two TVs (backyard and garage) where it would be nice to have a mini.

I think I can purchase a single 1 TB Bolt with lifetime to replace one of our Tivos and then replace the other Tivo with a mini. But this means my wife and I would be sharing a single Tivo for content and recording. I think this would probably be ok but I would be interested if anyone had any thoughts on this.

Then I would add 1-2 additional mini units for the garage (to watch on the bike trainer) and backyard. This will work fine, right? We could watch content on the Bolt from 2 or more units simultaneously?

To offset the cost of the Bolt + lifetime I would sell both of our current HD units with their lifetime subs (as I do not believe lifetime subs can be transferred). That's still legal according to Tivo, right?
