This was a pretty interesting article about the technology and strategy NBC used to stream Olympics coverage over the web. I thought it was interesting how they discussed online viewership going up and that Linear TV was down.
Reading it I thought they would conclude with some assessment as how this was the service of the future, but I was surprised by the last quote:
I have maintained for a while that OTT is a great source system for Movies, like Netflix or unique content like Adam Savage on YouTube. But the scale is t their for linear programming.
It "seems" as Mr. Rayburn has made a similar assessment.
What do you guys think?
