I have a Series 3 HD. I bought a used Roamio OTA three days ago. I do realize (from forums posts) that the signal strength meter shows different values for different models and the Roamio shows lower values. For my major networks where previously I would get in the mid-nineties, I now got in the low seventies. Several stations registered a 72 on the Roamio.
There is a 2-way splitter from the antenna to the Roamio. I decided to replace the splitter with a coupler - so now the antenna was only feeding the Roamio. Interestingly, there was minimal to no change in the signal strength readings on the Roamio. The channels which registered a 72 previously still registered 72. I'd have expected some increase in signal strength since the signal should have approximately doubled in strength.
What don't I understand?
