I recently got a letter from BrightHouse that my bill will be going up by $10 for the next billing cycle. So I called just to see what the deal is and discuss options. Turns out my bill will actually go up by about $50. My plan is expiring from the promotion I was on. So I asked about going to a new plan or other options. After a few minutes on hold the rep said it turns out BrightHouse will no longer offer support or provide CableCards, and no longer allow promotional campaign prices on CableCard plans. So my bill price is going up.
Is this an attempt to force me to use their dvr instead of my TiVo? I can't decide what to do. Maybe it's time to cut the cord. I'm starting to look at an hd antenna to get local networks.
Has anyone else seen this from cable providers? What options do I have?
