All,
Got the recent October bill from Comcast and noticed that the total had gone up roughly $25. Turns out the local franchise was just moved to their "new" billing system and instead of just being charged $0.80 for the 3 CableCARDS in our old S3 OLED's, we were now being charged the digital outlet charge of $9.95 each that others had reported minus the $2.50 customer owned equipment discount for each. Note that we were an Adelphia franchise before Comcast purchased it which is probably relevant.
I took my last 2 bills to the local office to see if I could revert back which is where I found out about them being moved to the new billing system. They had someone there from another site apparently helping with the differences as he said "it's always been that charge for CableCARDS up north".
So since they couldn't help I went ahead and turned the 3 "spare" CableCARDS in. We actually hadn't been recording anything on the 2 S3 OLED's since moving to the Roamio last October and I had moved 1 of the CableCARDs from 1 S3 OLED to the Roamio so that one was reduced to a single active tuner. The only good news is that in removing those 3 CableCARDS from my account, they did *not* mess up the programming on the remaining one in the Roamio. Be thankful for small miracles. :)
Just a warning for any other Comcast users that see a similar change.
