AT&T’s streaming service DirecTV Now is getting cloud DVR, parental controls, and other features

User profiles, a “download and go” feature, and 4K HDR support are planned for a 2018 release.

This next-generation TV platform will begin to roll out publicly this fall to both DirecTV Now and DirecTV companion app users. The platform will also power all of AT&T video offerings, including DirecTV, U-verse, and NFL Sunday Ticket. The DirecTV Now companion apps will likely receive the new features first, the company says.

Sound like a complete new UI for the crappy G box....
