Bolt+ remote learning mode

I was able to program my old XL4 remote to control the vol and mute of a Bose Cinemate by using the leaning mode. However, my new Bolt+ remote does not seem to be able to do the same. Is learning mode available with the Bolt+ remote?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as Tivo tech support has simply no idea what I am talking about.
