Just received refurb---fan not spinning: normal?

I received my 500 GB unit yesterday. I am concerned because the cooling fan on the bottom has never spun despite being powered for a couple of hours and going through the setup process. No recordings have been attempted.

I was told by telephone support (not in USA) that the Bolt has 2 fans and that my unit was performing normally. I don't trust that answer because there is only 1 fan---right?

Should the fan always be spinning or is it temperature dependent?
