So, I finally got my V53 error fixed on a 2-tuner Premiere and figured I would share it here. Basically, it turned out to be the cable card. The cable card that was in it (& giving me random tuning issues) was a Cisco one dated 03/2012. I had a left over cable card from a recently sold S3 that I never returned to Comcast so I figured I would try it. It is a Sceintific Atlanta that was dated 08/2007. Switched it into the Tivo, called Comcast to have it paired and it has worked flawlessly.
Now, I also know that SA and Cisco are more or less one in the same company, but all the cable cards in my TiVos that I dont have problems with are SA branded and usually dated back a few years. I know, may not make any sense and/or is the reason, but I am passing along just my experience and what fixed it for me. Take it with a grain of salt, but I no longer am getting ANY V53 errors on a 2-tuner premiere I have. I was plagued with this problem daily before, but am now error free and am able to watch and record anything I want without any issues. Probably no rhyme or reason to it, but I am just happy that I am no longer getting the annoying V53 errors.
