I've been watching the original “Polseres Vermelles" and the word is Spielberg watched it and it made him cry. Seems like with the Fox version they've reduced the "emotion" considerably and replaced with "Glee" style humor.
They also changed some of the characters (genders, ailments) and have added characters.
I definitely prefer the original (which made me cry too, Spielberg), but I'll keep watching this one.
I'm thoroughly impressed with the bald kid, who I recognize from SciFy channel's "Peter Pan" a few years ago and who I know is British (but sporting an American accent for this.)
I'll keep watching for now, but I give it a B-. I wish they'd tone down the humor and give me more to cry about. ;)
