This happens with either OTA or Cable, but I remove channels I don't want from the standard menu item called "Channels" on the main Roamio (i.e. not favorite channel). My Mini channels match (I think). My iPad app shows all the channels regardless of what was deselected on the Roamio. In my title I say filtered, but I do NOT mean favorite listing. I mean removing the channel under Menu>Settings>Channels (or whatever).
The pain with this, is that my wife and I maybe don't remember that we don't get that channel. We see something we want to watch, so we select it. Then, we get the blank screen with the box saying to contact your cable provider type of deal.
Is there a way to make the iPad app see only the channels available / selected in the Channel lineup? Tell me what I should try and report back on.
I thought of creating a favorite listing of all the channels that we get, but seems like the backwards way of making it work.
