Large numbers of queued up MRV transfers just stop

I am helping a friend set up a new Roamio+2xMini configuration to replace her old XL+S2+ComcastDVR setup. Right now we are in the stage of transferring everything over to the new Roamio Pro from the XL where she has 60 pages of programs that she wants to keep (I've tried to get her to prune out stuff she doesn't need, but she is the ultimate pack rat). She spent several hours going through all 60 pages of programs and queueing them up to transfer and then let it go.

When I got there today to check on the status of things and set up the Minis we noticed that it had stopped after about 10 pages of programs and wasn't transferring anything any more. The TiVo help pages say to go to the ToDo and History pages to see why things may not have gotten transferred, but they weren't listed in either place. After much growling and nashing of teeth we decided to start up some more transfers. We set up about 7 or 8 programs to transfer and went to deal with Season Passes on tivo.com and install the Minis. Some time later I went back to check the ToDo list and noticed that there were now 60 pages of transfers listed that weren't there before and it was now up to 12 pages of transferred programs. This looked good for everything getting transferred now and we were happy, however briefly.

That sounded great, but a few hours later I went back and the 60 pages of transfers were still listed in the ToDo list, but there was nothing actually being transferred. All of them were listed as "will be transferred soon". Grrr... So we read something online about rebooting to kick off queued up transfers and we tried that and when it came back up it had no transfers listed in ToDo any more. We tried setting up another few manual transfers, but that didn't seem to wake up the 60-ish pages of missing transfers.

Any thoughts? Are large batches of MRV transfers just not going to work? Do they sometimes pause and resume later for various internal reasons (such as when it is busy recording for instance)? Is there a trick to keeping the queue from dying out? Is there a trick for whatever we did that made the missing transfers resurface? Any thoughts?
