Loved this episode.
Wondered out loud what it was that he needed to buy for his son..
Am I the only one who went online to search for the May 1972 issue? I found it and started reading one of the articles. There's a part where a guy hears some noise and is worried about some wild dangerous animal, but then is relieved that it's only a big moose.
My name was written on the front of the refrigerator!! Jeff K!!! My ego is big enough to have me hoping that Damon was reading all of the Lost threads here and wanted to thank me in some small way for my threads of praise. ;D
I love the balance on that excruciatingly thin line between "is this something supernatural going on, or something more mundane!" on multiple things in this episode. Every conversation with the father is like that.. Is it more interesting that he's just crazy and that people are on the edge of actually believing him, or is it more interesting if the voices he hears are actually something real? Is it more interesting if the multiple pregnant Asian chicks are all just victims of a cult, or if there's actually something to the Bridge?
The scene where the son finds the 2nd Asian girl had me thinking that HE was completely disillusioned by it (damn, there's nothing special about this guy, he's just really into Asian girls and f*cked a bunch of them since he could), yet there's still a ton of room for that to actually be a huge event, and the Bridge to be a main story point. It's certainly highlighted by the end of the episode with her in the bathtub with her new girl!
This is your invitation.
You KNOW this is real, which makes you a coward!
I love how they interrupted the Dad right when he was about to answer why he wanted to drug the dog. He HAD a good answer and started to say it, and then...
Great episode. I now love that this show started out slow.
One more thing - I like a LOT of the characters on the show (which I certainly can't say for many of the shows I'm trying to stomach now). I really like the main character cop. I now like his daughter way more than I did (and I even like her friend so far). I like his Dad a lot. I like the priest. I LOVE the woman who lost her whole family. I now even like the main guy's son (who is escorting the Asian chick). Man, gotta start learning some of these names.
