It's dead

So my RCA DVR 80 dies yesterday and was able to set up a new TIVO yesterday. Not happy about the new remote not being able to control our OTA TIVO. Don't like the fact that there is no " save to VCR" option, but will try to transfer by playing to my DVD.

Is there any way to recover the content from the dead TIVO? It wasn't responding to any input form either the remote or buttons on the front.
