Wife Approval

I had the original TiVo's and, by the looks of the forum saying my last visit was 4/15/2004, I haven't had one in 10 years. I hated Comcast DVR/software. Dish was ok. I have been with DirecTV for almost 4 years now and I'm out of contract. In looking at going back to Comcast for another promotional pricing period, I started looking at TiVo and I want it back again so bad! I have a few questions first about my understanding of how the new system works:

- I plug in a Roamio Plus or Pro and it has the MoCA bridge built in. So if it has a live Ethernet connection, it will feed any Mini's I add to the system.

- I can now add TiVo Mini's to the system and they will function just like the main Roamio with only a Coax connection.

- The Roamio will need a CableCard from Comcast. I have read some ugly stuff, but overall it seems that they work, even with VOD. Does VOD also work on the Mini's?

- Do you have to pay a montly fee to Comcast for the Mini's, or does it look to them like you only have 1 TV? Or is there a slot on each Mini for a CC?

My last question is, how do I sell this to the wife? We currently have 3 networked DVR's and 1 HD receiver that can pull from all of the DVR's. So my upfront cost to get 4 TV's is pretty high. I'm thinking I ease into that. If my math is right though, it looks like the "investment" would be paid for in about 2 years. We currently pay $165 between DTV and Comcast internet. I would be locked in at $90 for 2 years with Comcast, plus the $15/mo for the TiVo service on the Roamio. I would be at $130 if I rented the boxes from Comcast, and that would go to $140 after a 12 month promotion on the X1 box.

Well I hope to be posting here soon as a "new" TiVo owner! Thanks for any help you can provide.
