I have two HD Tivos with TW cable. One Tivo has the cablecard/tuning adaper and the other Tivo doesn't. The one with the CC gets all the channels as expected. The one without only gets the analog channels. However, if I connect the cable straight into my HDTV TV, the TV can receive many more channels and they are digital. The TV cannot receive as many as the Tivo with the CC, but it's still a pretty good selection.
I would like to have my non-CC Tivo also be able to get those same channels that my TV can pick up. My TV doesn't have a CC or tuning adapter, so I would expect that Tivo would also be able to pick those up off the line.
I have tried going through guided setup a few times with no luck. There's a question where it asks about the cable card. I think the choices are:
1. I have a CC
2. I will get a CC later
3. I don't have a CC
I have tried options 2 and 3. Option 3 means the Tivo only shows the analog channels in the guild. Option 2 means it shows the digital channels, but they just show black when you go to them. When my TV tunes them in, the channel has a dash in the number like 18-241 or something instead of just 124.
