Hi:
I've had a Series 2 that's still going strong and it was hooked up to a Comcast cable box (non DVR) and a panasonic non HDTV. The TV cable directly went into the back of the TV and the Tivo and cable box were connected. Used Tivo remote. Worked like a charm for years.
I now have an HDTV that I'd like to set up to my Series 2 and Cable box . I don't care if I see anything in HD. I just want to be able to record on my Tivo and use my Tivo remote on the new HDTV.
So, I tried the simplest thing.....connecting the TV cable directly to the new HDTV and leaving the Tivo/cable box connections as is.
What "source" should I be putting the new TV on? composite? Component? S-video (that's the type of cable from the wall, right?) or something else?
Or do I need to set it up a completely different way. I know there must be a way to do this. I guess I could go back to my old TV but it was huge (about 24 " deep!) and I'm trying to streamline the bedroom.
Anyway.....thanks for any help. Ask away, if something isn't clear.
