Help Initiating the kickstart 54 process.

Ugg!
Can anybody tell me a trick to initiate the kickstart 54 to work so that I can test my hard drives? I think that I have one that is failing.. as I keep getting "Lost Connection" on my MINI only when connected to my Premiere-4HD (I have two other Roamios that I can connect to without getting the error.)

Initiate the kickstart process: For Tivo HD :
As the Tivo restarts, the green LED light on the front of the Tivo will be lit. As soon as it blinks, (within 2 seconds) press and hold down the yellow Pause button on the remote. Within a few moments, the yellow and red LED lights will turn on. When the yellow and red LED lights turn on, release the yellow Pause button and then press 54 on the remote. You will have 10 seconds to do this.

I never see any RED lights only green power light that flashes.
From Command Central -> Help -> Restart -> 3 Thumbs Down -> Enter -> all led's flash once -> Green LED -> Screen goes blank -> Press Pause-> Green LED flashes once -> Screen goes into a different resolution ->Screen goes to a higher resolution -> Command central.
