More than one TiVo in the room - how manage remotes?

Hi - I know many of you have multiple boxes, some in the same room. Right now i have my old TivoHD and my new Roamio running in the same room, and I'm having to cover one or the other with newspaper. Tivo tells me I'm SOL - is there any clean way to have only one TiVo respond to the remote at a time?
