Placing tivo inside of an enclosed tv stand cabinet

I'm interested in purchasing a TV Stand (see photo) that has an enclosed storage drawer. My question is - can you safely and functionaly place a Tivo in an enclosed area. Will the Tivo RF remote work? Should I be concerned about ventilation. I'm not sure if there is an opening on the back. If there is not, I would have to create a hole(s) anyway to get the cables out. Thoughts?
