Anyway, I have had a TIVO Roamio 4-tuner for over 2 years and LOVE IT. I have Time Warner Cable(TWC), and use a Tuning Adapter with it to get my Digital Cable channels from the CableCard.
I read somewhere that the "NEW" Tivo Bolt(4tuner/OTA or Cable model) has the Tuning Adapter "BUILT INTO IT" already. So there would be no need for an external box from TWC.
I read that it was built in, or a recent SOFTWARE UPGRADE has made the Tuning Adapter unnecessary on a TIVO Roamio, or higher. The new Software replaces the external box from TWC,or the like.
Is this True(either the built in tuning adapter,or the new software)? If it is, that would be great.
Nice way to get rid of an additional piece of equipment that is just using electricity constantly anyway. Plus, it would be nice way to get rid of another piece of equipment off of the rack/TV Stand.
