I need a laptop to replace another one that's far past its prime. All it does is ham radio work near my radios, watching satellite orbits, entering info on QRZ.com and programming radios in Linux or Windows depending on the radio. Or checking info on common websites. It sits in a small cubby hole so a standard tower won't work there and most of our machines here are Chromebooks now. It was the last working windows laptop of our post windows fleet.
So here's what I need
Windows 7 or better (even a older Mac could do I think)
Linux Mint capable which is most of them
4+ GB RAM
250 GB or better storage.
A CPU that won't frustrate me[emoji13]
So you see my needs for this is small since it's not a primary machine, but since it's a low use machine I don't want to spend a fortune on it. I've checked the local used market and am not impressed or they are beat to crap or overpriced, and the low price ones I'm finding at stores local mostly use tiny 32gb drives or frustrating underpowered slow CPU's.
