Ever since the Rovi switch (from Tribune Media), TiVo listings have been shat upon. First, the program descriptions are laughable in their subjective, rah-rah breathlessness. More seriously, subcategories of the same program have been separated into completely discrete categories, rendering prior Season Passes (OnePasses) incomplete. Furthermore, proper titles and season/episode numbers are often missing, resulting in duplicate recordings. This doesn't even mention the hours some had to endure with zippo program data whilst everything was organizing itself.
Now the mobile apps have been affected. I'm not sure about Android, but the iOS app randomly lists duplicate entries of the same program. This isn't exactly lethal as choosing either accomplishes the same goal. A more frustrating quirk involves entire time periods rendered as 'To Be Announced' just on the app. (The local TiVo has the correct listings.) Curiously, asking TiVo to record these patches renders the correct program listed in the app's To Do list! Unfortunately, when a blank time period covers more than one program, there's no way to record subsequent missing program data without going to the TiVo.
I dunno: If it's true that "where there's smoke, there's fire," TiVo HQ must be awash in an inferno.
