YouTube app crops 4:3 videos played on a 16:9 TV - solutions?

No issues with aspect ratios on my Roamio except for the YouTube app. When watching a 4:3 video source, the app defaults to zooming in and cropping rather than letterboxing. Is there a setting I'm missing?
