Computer question. Not Tivo

I have a new computer from Dell with Dell warranty service. They don't seem to understand the problem I'm having. Now I'm doubting myself. Issue is, my page freezes too often and nothing works, get a 'Page Unresponsive' sign. Another thing is when I click on a menu, it too often 'flashes' at me...quickly opens and shuts, like in fraction of second. They say it may be internet connectivity issue. My internet connection shows solid light. Welcome opinions as i have worked with 12 techs...
