Manage recordings that may have been watched by wife

I am considering one of the newest bolt models along with a mini. I can foresee a problem.

On my current setup (wife and I watch TV in different rooms and each have our own Tivo) after I have watched a show I delete it. No desire to store old shows that have been watched.

To make my question a little easier to understand I will setup a scenario:
