We have "cut the cord", and now have over-the-air TV coming into our two-tuner Premiere. Following is what happened:
- When I first installed the antenna, all the channels came into the TiVo Premiere cleanly, but required insanely precise antenna aiming.
- Once I got everything dialed in, I split the antenna out to one TiVo and two TVs...and the signal died out completely. I installed a Channel Master +8 dB distribution amplifier, and the TVs were rock-solid...but the TiVo was getting nothing.
- I installed a 8 dB pad on the output from the amplifier to the TiVo. Now the TiVo works great...except in rainstorms (slightly reduced antenna signal strength). The TVs' inputs are continuing to work beautifully.
I just ordered a 6 dB pad to see if this signal strength increase does anything.
So...is there a documented issue where the TiVo is extremely picky about the signal strength it receives, in that it complains if it's too low _or_ too high?
Thanks!
