Sharing Premiers across multiple locations

So, I'm about to change some living arrangements and want to share my found premieres across two homes. My understanding is that if I were to have two boxes each home, they could only share content within each home. I remember someone successfully tying two locations together to share content with a VPN. While I tried searching I could not find any instructions here on how to do that, my networking skills are pretty weak.



Anyone have a link or instructions?
