I have 2 Premiere DVR's, one of which does not show my Tivo Desktop Plus as a choice from the My Shows menu. I have restarted everything multiple times, checked firewalls, etc. All of my Tivo's are hardwired via gigabit wiring. The Desktop Plus software sees the Premier unit in question (if I tell it I want to grab a show from the DVR it pulls up a current list from that unit) however the PC will not show up in the My Shows list.
As a side note to any actual Tivo employee who monitors this thread (as is claimed at the beginning) are there any plans to bring Tivo Desktop Plus into the 21st Century or are you all pretty much just abandoning it? There hasn't been a major upgrade to this piece of software in what is closing in on a decade now, it is unstable, buggy, and quite honestly cumbersome to be able to do anything "modern" such as transfer files to other platforms like tablets etc. If my wife didn't have so many shows moved over to a PC hard drive via this piece of software I would have dumped it ages ago for your lack of keeping it current, which is extremely disappointing considering A. What you charge for the Tivo service to begin with, and B. the fact that you charge an additional fee for this piece of software you haven't updated since the Bush era.
