Tivo mini with premiere 4

Hey i have a premiere 4 with cablecard and plan on buying tivo mini to extend to another tv, ive been using tivo premiere 4 with just cablecard no subscription as i dont need guide/recording or any of their service just use it to watch live tv and is been working great. But my question is if i buy a mini tivo would that require me to subscribe to tivo services or would i be able to use live tv like i do but now with also the mini again i dont care about dvr and other features
