Anybody else watching/watched this show? I was binging Netflix's Luke Cage and figured six episodes in two days was time to take a small break. I remember seeing The Get Down being promoted and decided to give it a whirl. It is much better than I at first thought it would be. The main plot is about teenagers coming of age in the Bronx in the mid 70s - at the intersection of disco, the beginnings of rap and the MCs. As someone who was 18 in 1977, the music is right in my wheel house. I'm four episodes in. I think there are six episodes in this half season. From what I've read, production problems have forced then to release only half the episodes in 2016 with the second half coming in 2017.
