Hello, all. New member here.
I just upgraded from an old Tivo HD, to a Premiere XL4 (no, I didn't get a Roamio, for a variety of reasons). I'm in Los Angeles, and have Time Warner Cable, with a cable card and a tuning adapter.
I took the cable card out of the old unit, put it in the new one, and installed the XL4 in my system. After pairing the new unit with TWC, I was able to get things started.
However, as strange as it may sound, I'm receiving a signal on only 2 of the 4 tuners in the XL4. After an hour on the phone with a Tivo tech, going over the diagnostics, the only thing she could see was that my Signal to Noise ration on the 2 active tuners was too high (38-39 dB; she said it should be more like 36). It was suggested that I have TWC install a dampener or attenuator on the line, to lower the SNR.
TWC can't come out for a couple of weeks, and I'm not particularly optimistic anyway. Does anyone have any thoughts about what seems to me to be a strange phenomena? Thanks.
Michael
