I read an article in Sound & Vision magazine while traveling (left magazine on plane, so can't recite it exactly) that lead me to believe TiVo had updated their software so that tuning adapters were no longer necessary for switched digital channels.
I called TiVo to confirm, and CSR said that yes, this was the case for Cox. So i unhooked my adapter and about half the channels i knew were switched tuned in, and half didn't. I called Cox, and they had no clue what i was talking about. I called TiVo back, and the CSR rep i got this time also had no clue about this. She even said that the summer update didn't need tuning adapter but now that winter update has been released, I DO need a tuning adapter.
This article also indicates tuning adapters no longer necessary: http://www.multichannel.com/news/tec...eo-tech/376007
Would love to ditch my tuning adapters. Anyone have the straight story on this?
Thanks!
