Tivo Roamio with Tivo Premiere or mini?

I recently took advantage of the Tivo 10 Year Loyalty promotion and bought the Roamio Pro + 2 Minis ($150)



I currently have twos Premiere with Lifetime and was planning to sell them. However, I was surprised to see they are only going for about $150-$160 on ebay.



Question:

Instead of buying the mini's, would it make sense to just return the mini's and use the premiere boxes as extenders? Any benefit by going with the mini? I read on another thread that a cablecard isn't required, so that wouldn't be a factor.
