My series 2 Tivo has been happily attached to my wired home network for the last dozen years or so. About 6 months ago it started freezing (black screen) every 3-7 days. Not only does my Tivo freeze but my entire wired home network freezes at the same time.
Rebooting with the USB network adapter (Netgear FA120) attached will sometimes freeze at the Powering Up screen, sometimes the Almost There screen and occasionally will boot completely. With the USB adapter unplugged from the USB port the Tivo boots works fine. I ran the Tivo for a week with the network adapter removed and it had no problems.
I swapped the Netgear FA120 with one from another Tivo I have but the freezing problem continues with either adapter.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
