Hey gang-
We have a new Roamio Pro and a new Slide Pro remote. The Slide is paired and operating in RF mode with the Roamio (as confirmed by the yellow light on the remote during operation). So far so good.
But here's the problem. Even though the remote is paired and operating in RF mode, the Roamio apparently still sees and responds to IR commands.
So what, you ask. Well, in addition to our Roamio, we have an Apple TV 2 that we operate with our old Tivo remote with the 1-2 switch from our retired Tivo HD. (Yes, the Apple TV can be programmed to operate off a Tivo peanut remote- we love it. But that's another story....) The old Tivo HD knew not to respond when the 1-2 switch was in the 2 position for the Apple TV. But the Roamio doesn't seem to know- it responds in either position.
We want to continue using the peanut with the Apple TV, but we found that some pretty crazy stuff can happen on the Tivo when operating the Apple TV. Remember, the Tivo doesn't know you aren't talking to it- and all the inputs that are going to the Apple TV are going to the Tivo as well. With highly unpredictable results to say the least LOL!
Now, I suppose I could throw an unsightly piece of tape over the Roamio's IR sensor. But I was hoping there was a way to program it to not look for IR commands at all.
Thanks gang!
