mentalist: 3 or 4 seasons behind..worth it?

i'm at least 3 years behind. obviously the red john solution is something id be interested in but I am not really into the 'crime of the week' aspect of the show anymore. so should I even bother watching anymore or just read all the spoiler threads. I know one year they focused pretty heavily on red john so if there was a season like that. id be interested. maybe.
