Am I the only one Tivo can't charge a credit card for?
The card on record's acct number was changed earlier this year due to fraud. So when my annual fee cam due 3 weeks ago, the card with the old, wrong number wouldn't go through. I don't remember receiving an emailed or mailed note from tivo telling me to pay up.
Friday night, service was cut off. (I WAS 3 weeks overdue). Went online to change the card to the new number. Couldn't do it because I wasn't the "Official contact?" huh, of course I am. Have been since 2008. Called them and the rep "De-duped" me. That's what he said, he de-duped me. I gave him the new card number. Wouldn't go through, he said. Well, crum, try this card. No, this wouldn't work either. OK, I'll call back tomorrow and try again. Then I called the banks. Bank A said Tivo put a $1 charge, reversed it, did it again. Both went through, but no $138 charge. Bank B said Tivo had not tried to charge my card.
Saturday morning, tried online and no love. Called Tivo and had the rep do it. Went though fine, he told me at 9 a.m. It might take a couple of hours to clear the messages through, he said. Turned the box on 6 hours later and was still blocked. Called tivo and the rep said to do a reconnect to the network. Did that. didn't change. Looked at bank where payment "went through fine." Tivo never did the charge. So of course I'm blocked, I owe them money.
Called them back. We;'ll be happy to charge it, they said. gave them the account #, was on hold for 8 minutes to have the guy come back and say, we can't charge your card. (The bank has told me that there would be no problem with the whopping $138 charge).
So now it's Sunday morning and I'm going to try the wonderful and friendly tivo help. That can't help.
end of vent.
