I'm receiving a new Roamio this week. It is the basic OTA/CATV 4 Tuner model.
I'd like to upgrade it to a larger HD. I see that you can install up to 6TB, preferrable an "AV" HD is best. there does seem to be a variety of opinion on which drives to use or not to use.
I've got some Seagate 3 TB that I think are this one:
http://ift.tt/1GB31s5
They are:
7200rpm
SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
Optimized for Video Surveillance
They came out of my NAS, so they do have a lot of spin cycles on them.
Would these be good drives for my new Roamio? Is there a concern about having a few years of use on them?
I may also have access to a 3TB WD Cavier Green. Would this be a better choice?
Thanks, Pete
