TiVo app won't stay "open" on Ipad

The TiVo app on my iPad will connect and open to the My Shows screen. However, one to five seconds later the screen will "close" and return to the iPad screen where I opened the TiVo app. However, it still shows as an open app on the iPad. I first experienced this while out of state but it does the same thing since I returned home. I have the iPad 2 WIFI only running ios 8.2 TiVo app is version 3.5.3

The iPad seems to be a bit sluggish, too. Maybe resetting it might help?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
