With the recent Tivo OS upgrade, my Tivo Premier Q DVR box (managed by cable provider Grandecom out of Dallas) is still running 20.4 while my Tivo minis (which I own) were upgraded to 20.5.
Since this upgrade, I am no longer able to play any recorded movie from the DVR to the minis. In speaking with Tivo support, this is an issue and their message was for Tivo boxes to work consistently, all boxes need to be on the same OS. This is a great ideal to have but not necessarily a real world reality. In speaking with my Grandecom Communications, they were unaware of the Tivo OS upgrade and were unaware of any plan for them to push an OS update out to their Tivo boxes.
Outside of buying my own Tivo DVR or paying outrages monthly mini rental fees, what other options exist?
